Travel Startups Incubator is pleased to announce TravHQ as its newest portfolio company. The India-based media platform presents dynamic travel-related news as well as analysis of technology and other developments within the growing Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific regions to keep its readers updated on current technologies, travel startups, and other news in these booming tourism markets.

TravHQ managing partner Daksh Sharma, an industry expert on travel startup and technology trends, says, “India’s travel economy is booming and we are witnessing a number of travel-tech startups reshaping the experience of inbound and outbound travelers. At TravHQ, one of our missions is to bring these promising travel startups to the center stage and create an access pool for industry’s thought-leaders.

To date, we have tracked the growth of 150 travel startups in and around APAC. We are quite excited to join the TSI platform and explore the possibilities of creating new initiatives for the travel industry and also taking our founding event StartupKnockDown to international markets.”

Through the StartupKnockdown initiative, TravHQ provides a knowledge-sharing platform for travel technology. In order to highlight new tech companies throughout India, StartupKnockdown invites startup innovators to present their ideas or companies at travel trade shows with the opportunity to meet travel executives and investors.

According to Sharma, TravHQ has also been a media partner for a dozen major events within the travel industry such as Phocuswright India and ITB Asia.

“We stepped into the event category in February 2016 by hosting panel discussions and the first edition of StartupKnockdown in association with OTM Mumbai, India’s leading travel trade show. Since then, we have successfully concluded four editions of StartupKnockdown, with two more coming up in September 2016.”  These events have drawn participation from more than 100 travel startups and numerous investors, startup accelerators, and other media partners.

“TravHQ aspires to be a one-stop source for the travel and hospitality industry in the Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific markets,” Sharma says. “We cover everything from disruptive technology, emerging trends, and innovative startups to techniques employed by destination marketers.”

The TravHQ team also regularly interviews industry leaders and posts detailed reports that provide insights into the ever-changing travel industry.

According to Matt Zito, Managing Partner at Travel Startups Incubator, “Daksh Sharma and his team at TravHQ are building the first media and events business dedicated to travel startups in India. Their initial focus on covering travel startups aligns perfectly with TSI’s vision to become the leading global travel technology incubator and investment platform.”

India’s travel startup culture is flourishing and travel will impact the nation greatly over the next 10-years as more and more Indian travelers discover the world and emerging market travelers visit India. There are many synergies we can leverage between our two companies from content creation, startups seeking funding and startup events. We look forward in supporting TravHQ as they grow their business and look to expand outside India.”
